- 1
Open Hand Monk 9 / Thief Rogue 3
Thief's extra bonus action plus Flurry of Blows makes it the best single-target damage dealer. Take Tavern Brawler for Strength-to-hit and damage if you go unarmed Strength.
- 2
Swords Bard 10 / Fighter 2
Control spells (Hypnotic Pattern, Hold Person) plus Countercharm and Bardic Inspiration. Bards also carry dialogue checks.
- 3
Throwing Berserker Barbarian
Tavern Brawler and the Returning Pike or Nyrulna make thrown attacks hit hard. Rage resistances keep the frontline alive.
- 4
Light Cleric or Life Cleric
Healer and buffer. Spirit Guardians plus Spiritual Weapon handle crowds; Mass Healing Word revives downed allies at range.
- 5
Honour Mode rules: one save file, and a full party wipe ends the run. Major bosses gain Legendary Actions — extra moves they can use on your turn, which you can read by examining them. Always pre-buff before a fight, scout with Speak with Dead/Invisibility, and pull enemies to chokepoints. Carry Scrolls of Revivify and keep at least one Potion of Speed for bad turns.

Act 1 priorities: get Haste-capable items, a Ring of Protection, and avoid Gnoll and Owlbear fights before level 4.
