Hunt: Showdown 1896: beginner survival guide

Sound is everything. Running through water, crows, chained dogs, glass and chickens all give away your position. Walk or crouch near animals and listen before you move.

Find the boss with clues: use Dark Sight to see blue clue wisps. Three clues reveal the boss lair; each clue also narrows the map.

Banishing takes time and lights you up for every team on the map. Prep the lair first — close doors, place traps, and pick positions before you start.

Carrying the bounty shows you to enemies in Dark Sight for a few seconds at a time. Grab it and move to the nearest safe extract; don't loiter.

Run cheap Hunters while you learn. Bring a long-range and a close-range weapon, plus medkit and a light source like Fire Bomb or Concertina Trap.

Downed teammates can be revived

Bring a backup plan and don't peek the same angle twice.
